ORIGIN

The origins of the aloha shirt can be traced back to the Japanese kimono, which was worn by Japanese pioneers who immigrated to Hawaii in the early 20th century.

When kimonos brought from Japan became old, they were made into palaca-style shirts. The open-necked shirts made from kimono and yukata gradually spread and became popular.

The spirit of repair and recycling that has existed in Japan since the Edo period (1603-1868) and the culture of using up all resources and returning them to the earth because resources were limited, are important in the present day as we consider future manufacturing.
